SUP 24, The Island SUP SUPathon.


* On 21/06/24 starting at 18.00 we will begin our SUPathon.
* Our event is going to be held at Barry Community Water Activity Centre.
* Participants have options to book and paddle for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 or 24 hours.
* Participants can choose which hours they would like to paddle, for example, 4 hours 10.00 - 14.00 22/06/24.
* The event will be booked via a first come, first served basis.
* As the event fills we will share available time slots via social media and email.
* Maximum participant numbers: Day: 30 Night: 15 (21.00 - 06.00)
* A participants information pack will be emailed when a booking is made.
* Please reply to your booking email with your requested time slot, starting and finishing on the hour.

* Our SUPathon is a charity event, as a club we have chosen several charities close to our hearts, please see below. If you would prefer to raise funds for another charity please do.

* Individuals are asked to raise funds independently through Just Giving etc. (No minimum required.)
* After the event we would like to share totals raised by individuals, please let us know if you are happy to share this information.


* Equipment
* Board- any board, any size, hard or inflatable
* Waist Leash
* Buoyancy Aid/ PFD (not inflatable)
* Appropriate clothing suitable to the conditions on the day
* Enough food and drink for your entire event (tap water is available)


* During the event participants will have access to changing rooms, showers (hot and cold) and an individual resting area (if paddling for 6 hours or more).


* Rest Area
* Participant rest area: Every participant paddling for 6 hours or more will be given a small space inside to set up their base for the event. (There is plenty of chairs, several large tables and a small kitchen area with sink, kettle, and microwave.) Participants belongings will be left at their own risk.


* Eating
* NO eating is allowed on the water, so paddlers will have to take 'time out' to 'pit stop' and refuel. You can stop and rest at any time and for as long as you want.


* Music
* Music is allowed on the water (no headphones for safety) please consider your paddling neighbours.


* Due to the endurance element of this event, the safety team may require you to stop and be checked for good health to proceed. If requested to STOP, you must cooperate with the safety team. A decision to continue or STOP will be made by the safety team, their decision is absolute and final. Every participants good health is paramount, the event team are here to help you achieve your goals.

* Medals
* Everyone who enters will receive a SUP 24 wooden medal.
* Those who complete 24 hours will receive a SUP 24 trophy.

* GPS Data
* After the event we will also be collecting and collating individuals GPS data so we can have some fun crunching the numbers to see who paddled the furthest during the different allocated times.

* Insurance & Consent
* Participants have to be 18 or over to enter (during daylight hours 06.00 - 21.00 competent youth club members are welcome to get involved.)
* All participants will sign an Island SUP consent form to take part in the event. Individuals must be able to swim at least 50 metres, tread water for 5 minutes and be able to self-rescue in deep water.

* Cancellation
* If the event is cancelled for any reason, all entries will be transferred to the following year. * Unfortunately, due to costs we have already paid, we cannot refund. * If you require to cancel your place, we will allow you to transfer your place to someone else up to 7 days before the event (please notify us).


* The entry cost is to cover water safety, medical support, and medals. * Everyone supporting the event will be volunteering (not including the water safety company).


* There will also be a coffee van, merchandise stall and massage available. (More to follow.)
