Come and learn to SUP or improve your SUP skills here with us on the beautiful Barry Island and nearby locations.

Island SUP Club aims to support and nurture the sport of stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) within its local community and beyond.

Island SUP Club has education at its heart whether that be:

Water Safety, Environmental Skills or Technique.

SUP Fitness and Coastal SUP are also our strengths, plus anything Surf: SUP surf, prone surf, body surfing and body boarding.

Throughout the year Island SUP Club host monthly SUP events such as flat water SUP socials, SUP surf and coastal adventures which are free for club members.

Our weekly club nights run from April 1st - September 30th and they operate and alternate between Jackson’s Bay, Whitmore Bay, Old Harbour, Cardiff Bay, and other local beaches such as Southerndown and Porthcawl.

Island SUP Club offers 1 joint adult session for 1hr 30 min, 18.30 - 20.00 every Monday. Several coaches will be available to support individuals and offer a progressive approach for all.

New for 2026: Due to the development at the Barry Docks and a desire to offer our members a wider variety of SUP locations and activities we will be offering a new club night timetable based around tide times. Sessions may include, flat water SUP, coastal SUP, SUP surf/ body boarding.
